The sort of area that backpackers don't usually get to be at. Surf City hostel is right in the best part of it overlooking a very beautiful beach and pier.

Overview

The hostel is a building at the foot of the Hermosa pier. Most of the windows have ocean views. The hostel is a double story place with lots of dorms and privates. They have a full kitchen where you can cook in a normal good sized space. They have a TV room and a small lounge.

The community of Hermosa beach seems a million miles from the headaches and worries of Los Angeles but in fact it is part of Los Angeles and a simple bus ride away. There are plenty of restaurants and clubs. There is also a comedy club where headline acts come and Jay Leno hosts a couple times a week.
