Surf's up... Way up!
North Shore Oahu hostels
Honolulu is great, but no visit would be complete without a trip
to the Northshore! The famous surfer heaven North Shore of Oahu is a
must see place. With beaches like Pipeline, Sunset, and Witches Cove
all lined up and ready to be explored. To get to the North Shore,
you can take a city bus from Honolulu (it takes two hours or so to
get there). Backpackers North Shore is a great hostel right in the
middle of the North Shore and right across from the beach. If you
have a confirmed booking with them, you can call them and they will
pick you up from your Honolulu hostel.

Backpackers North Shore Hostel

Backpackers North Shore has plenty of options. They have four
different places you can book. Even though they are called different
things they are all the same hostel within one block along the road
that lines the North Shore coast. This hostel is great and highly
recommended by Twizi!

Backpackers has plenty of options. They have four different places you can book (I will explain them all below). Even though they are called different things they are all the same hostel within one block along the road that lines the North Shore coast. This hostel is great and highly recommended by Twizi! Because of the recent closure of a couple other places to stay in the North Shore, it is really your only available option online as far as cheap hostels go.

Backpackers North Shore
Main
House
- dorms 24.00

Twizi note:
The main house is
where check-ins occur and free coffee is offered. Since it is a
house, it is less, er, rustic than the bungalows described above.
There are four rooms with two bunk beds in each for four travelers.
What they say...
Minimum stay 2 nights
TThe Main House is located across the street from The Pupukea
Beach Marine Sanctuary (Three Tables Beach). It has a large enclosed
courtyard with picnic tables and a BBQ area. The office and staff
rooms are on the floor above so it's close to the free coffee, also
our famous "all you can eat" meals are served in the court yard. The
Main house is 4 dorm style rooms with four beds per room. It has two
baths and a large kitchen and lounge area. The kitchen is stocked
with everything you need and there is cable TV. Sheets are provided

There is also the Plantation Village, but they are
not available to be booked online for now (probably full cause of
surf season)...
Plantation Village
- dorms 24.00

Twizi
note: Plantation village is nine or so bungalows located across the
street from the beach. They are set back into the bush a little and
this is where a majority of backpackers stay (it is the cheapest)
There is a clearing with a couple of picnic tables and a outdoor
kitchen sort of thing where they offer barbequed dinner all you can
eat for five or six dollars. The tables are also where everyone
gathers, drink, and hang out. What they say...
Minimum stay 2 nights
Plantation Village is 9 plantation style cabins just down the
street from the Main House (200 meters) located across from the
other end of Pupukea Beach Marine Sanctuary (Three Tables Beach).
The cabins are nestled among hibiscus, bougainvillea, bananas and
Papaya on over an acre of lush tropical landscape. There are BBQ
areas and picnic tables and laundry facilities. All cabins have
fully equipped kitchens and baths and cable TV.
